mounting brackets

Post by bigoink »

Just been 'playing' with a couple of engines (silver century & featherweight) I didnt realise that the featherweight can be mounted into the larger silver century mounting bracket ......at least it can, with a bit of jiggery pokery and a small adapter made for the lower part of the drive shaft tube . If like me , you run a multitude of engines on the same hull(seagulls of course) for various reasons, it might be a point worth remembering.

I gained a silver centery no cluch and at some stage the last owner (spelt abuser) decided to incerase the amount of tilt. Sorry no pics but he added flattened copper pipe (15mm) to the bracket to extend the tilt this was held in place with a brass bolt throu the alloy bracket stainless steel nuts and washers..... Talk about setting up ready for electric action.. wondered was he attempting to make the gull produce 12v when in use. neadless to say there was corossion on the allow and copper but no so bad as to be a problem
