i have a 14ft dejon i use it on the sea would a 4hp seagull be adequate on a boat like, this i will be using two one as a aux,thanks dave

Look up the engine rating for your boat. Roughly 2/3 of that rating will give you enough power without spending too much.
Seagulls work better on displacement hulls

The Seagull might make an auxiliary , but if you want it as a trolling motor you might prefer something quieter!

As your main engine something in the 15-25hp range would be more appropriate. Perhaps just a 9.9 if not planning to travel far.
