102 brass hose adaptor

Post by billyboy »

i have a couple of 102 bottom ends that are the earlier type(with holes in them rather than slits and with a thicker exhaust flange, bow tie prop etc).they have a hole in the water pump housing between the drive shaft and silencer tubes that has an accommodating thread where one can screw a small brass hose adaptor to facilitate the connection of the water delivery tube.my problem is that i also have two later bottom ends that have a larger hole with no such thread. they are both in good condition with no apparent corrosion and so i was wondering if the later models employed a slightly different system in order to obtain a good watertight seal. is there another piece i am missing? i would rather not improvise unless absolutely necessary.any help would be appreciated

Hi Billyboy - the later 102 bottom ends just had a length of pipe shoved into the hole you describe, so that the connection was made on the O.D. of the tube rather than the bore ie. you have nothing missing.
I think by the time Seagull went this way, nylon/plastic tube rather than rubber tube was used.
