Did you get a picture of the right impeller for that housing?

Will that drive shaft tube fit in your thrust block?

Yes on both questions, Fred over here stocks two impellors, I assume one large and one small, so I will have to ask what size the larger one is?

The drive shaft tube fit the thrust block I am using ok.

Right now and assuming I stay with the lower unit that I fitted yesterday I am wanting a 102 type gear box and propellor?

What I need now is a 102 gearbox and propellor, the gear box needs to handle the clutch assembly.

Should a gear box be found I will have the lower casting damage welded and re shaped and drilled to take a machine screw.

Ask Fred if he can send you a picture of the impeller you think is the one, or even the part number.
To avoid any errors.

I may contact Fred next week, if I do I will ask as you suggest.

This 102 series engine is now parked and can remain so until the required parts come over the horizon?

As it started with a seized piston and has ended with a VERY NICE 102 engine that runs really well I am in a very good space with progress this far.

I have also come to like the 102 series motors when in the past I thought they were to old to bother with, I now feel that they are probably a better engine than the later series that followed the 102?

I have removed the fuel tank for two reasons, one is it is the wrong shape for the engine, two is the tank is well bashed on the one end and if I am to use it I need to take the end off and hammer it out, then refasten it to the tank, also move the fuel drain from the end it is on now.

I guess that buying from the internet will always have a risky side to it?

I bought from the picture posted by the seller, the main item that my 102 series engine needed was the Amal 2 jet carburetor, what I got was not complete, so as far as this purchase is concerned I am still some way off finishing the engine re build?

Can you see what was not supplied?

The picture that I was able to select parts from is is this one.

Note that the Amal 2 jet carburetor still has the throttle slide cap in place, I would assume that the throttle slide and spring was inside the carburetor?

The air intake hood has been changed, as the black plastic choke that we see is not on the one I was supplied with.

I now need a throttle slide, spring and a screw on cap.

That was not a bad ruse to put off import duty officers?

It did not work and even on the 20.00 pounds declared value I paid som R178 here at our post office to get the parcel, about 10.00, the actual amount that I paid for the (mixed) order and with postage was 90.00 pounds.

Roy,

This motor was broken up over a year ago now...

(Most regulars on here will relate to this) I have a 15x10' shed that is FULL of seagull parts and many complete motors. With this being the case i cant guarantee that the carb you will get will be the same as the one pictured in the photo of my old 102.

You identified the motor that I posted a picture of as the one I was buying from as your own, you did NOT say that it and the parts no longer existed.

I await the missing parts you did not send with dubious anticpiation.

The parts off that 102 probably do still exist in my shed somewhere. You cant expect me to look for the exact same part as thats near impossible in the many boxes of parts i have...
