Piston back in the cylinder and I have the head back together, a few hours until I tighten in all up
I thought I would struggle getting the piston rings back inside the cylinder but it went well

Tam I did it that way because I thought it would be easier, the only vice I have is a flytying one (oh and a love of Malt Whisky)
anyway it's back together, I only struggled with locating the water pipe into the position on the top of the gearbox but I got it right I hope
somehow I lost the other photos I took but I will post some more when it's done
I got sidelined with a baby sitting duty so I will have to wait until next week to try it out,
You will all be pleased to see the back of this one

Nice job so far.

For a beginner who just a few short months ago knew virtually nothing about seagulls you've done remarkably well up to now. Well done.

(i have several vices too, single malt (Irish mostly),various old machinery, seagulls, guinness, steak and kidney pudding, liver and onions, custard, old cars, old planes, train sets , antique fishing gear, jelly babies by the bagfull etc etc) I'm just a big kid that hasn't grown up yet with a very understanding wife.

The bigger question is will we see a video of the first start? (now there's some pressure)
It's nearly there though :P
Won't be too long before the air is thick with smoke and noise.

I would never have even bought it

I tend to split the gearbox from waterpump housing before reassemble and locate waterpipe with a knitting needle. .....

Or (if you can that is) slide the exhaust tube right down over the pumphousing before you join the powerhead to the lower unit leaving enough room up top to tighten the securing nut on the water pipe. Then slide the exhaust tube back up into place and re-fit the little screw.
Sounds easy doesn't it?
Easier with 2 pairs of eyes on the job as well.

Can't wait to see it running again Steve :P

Well done

I have a good steady flow of water but a blockage in both Carb and Exhaust, they are currently using some strong carbon cleaner to get me up and running
