serial number starts with AT or AD or what?

At first it looked like AI, later on like AT, but both do not exist. Now I'm thinking about AD because the time frame is correct.

The original letters look to have been ground out, for what ever reason, I doesn't think its a seagull font its been re-stamped with, but I'm no expert.

looks as though it's been "got at". (i have seen several variations in the letter/number stampings for the serial numbers so probably "factory" on that one)
the serial number indicates it was made between 56/57. From the research i've done so far, the gearbox looks as though it was from something a bit older than the serial number would suggest. 1 gearbox oil nipple would normally show on motors right around 1950 when the "sub ejector" pump housing was introduced. The "bow tie" prop is 100% correct for its age. Not entirely sure about the cylinder either.(slotted core plugs normally ended around 1955ish although there could be a slight overlap somewhere)
Transom mount is much later (1960's onwards or thereabouts)
Flywheel nut is ........(wrong) looks to be from something non seagull.
Inlet cowl looks to be "repaired" in some way! (there shouldn't be any bolts or screws holding it on) and there should not be a choke flap.
Fuel tap and line look to be a "homebrew special"
Good basis for a resto on this one.
All depends on how "authentic" you want to go with it.

pm me if you need any more info and i'll do my best.

The motor doesn't turn, something is stuck. I have too many other projects, so this one is for sale as is. Any reasonable bid will do. Pickup in Krommenie, Netherlands. Maybe I could bring it if I have to be in the neighborhood for my work, but that is still in the Netherlands.

The cheapest rate I could find (shipping only) to Melbourne is 300 euros.
I would still need to make a box and you would have to pick it up from Melbourne.
Which company goes from NL to TAS?

Make me an offer I can't refuse!

If you strip the engine down and clean it and also remove all the fuel from the tank, it will all fit in the larger boxes DHL provide. Shipping by DHL to Australia will be around UK£200 I think.

Sorry mate, that was my poor attempt at British Humour! No I cant make an offer, the cost of getting it here will be prohibited (see one of my earlier posts re clearance into Australia) However the DHL option looks more reasonable but what about the landing fees in Australia? that is what blew me away, It cost over $1000 just to clear the goods into Melbourne port after a low cost shipping fee of just UK pounds 200 port to port.

The original numbers have definitely been altered or got at.
Could this outboard have been used on the high speed drug runs into the southern USA ?
All or any other alterations done to provide maximum performance and to make tracking difficult.
Now there is this Aussie connection.
