Taplin engines

Has anyone ever heard seen or used one of these at all. Are they for marine use only.

Looks to be a marine only, Unless it still has fins under the water jackets, but I doubt it has, pull a head off and have a look.
Oily old things,I have a thirty year old plane with a glow-plug motor around, never flown.
I converted a two stroke car motor to marine for one of my boats, still got the motor, but the fibreglass boat didn't make the turn and was destroyed.
