The West Coast Piner's Punt

Post by Horsley-Anarak »

Having seen Robs picture of his Punt inspired boat , I had a little look to see what these boats were all about.

I found these lines, which look like they would go well with a 102 on the back.

Traditionally these boat had two rowing stations and were about 14foof long.

That is a nice thought H.A. But I given actually "Making" a boat a bit of a miss lately what with one thing and another........Space to do the deed under cover for one. Still, things may change as they do.

This particular find of yours is an absolute must have as it is exactly as I dream of in a "Old Dear Boat"!

:? as autumn is about the garden so soon we may have some rain..............Spring then is time to reconsider under cover space then.

It is very appropriate Mate!

You want to know how a Piners Punt would go with a Seagull? I can tell you how a shortened version goes, but contact the Wooden Boat Guild of Tasmania
http://www.woodenboatguildtas.org.au/index.php
I know some of the members have Seagulls, Peter Higgs is your man.

for that boat to be stable it would have to be very heavy or have ballast ...the round shape makes it roll very easily ....very heavy not good ..very round not good
