I am not in any of the pictures so far.

Maybe I was too far out of shot

Can remedy that....but not boat and driver in same pic... see below!

Image

Certainly a lot of river out there and a challenging cold swim if tipped out.....don't think black tights cut it!

Image

The usual "is it a plane, is it a bird ?" type pics........

Image

"No , it's Chucky's Yellow Peril!

And this bunch seemed to be looking for naughty boys and their toys.....

First two boats to make it to the Barge Inn.........really nice country setting. No parched, cracked earth, desert outback scene here. Also a decently kept pint of Black Sheep........

There was a rumour of a rag and stick entrant trying to batter his way under the road bridge to tie up alongside... ;)

Image

And some of the assembled drinkers...........

Image

The line up for the dash home from the top pound.....

Image

The flotilla starts back .........

Image

All hands on deck takes on new meaning ...............The dog's expression seems to say it is just hoping it doesn't have to suffer the embarrassment of being seen by the pigeons in a lifejacket........

Image

And people taking pictures of people taking pictures.........

Image

Certainly cameras pointing everywhere...

Image

Couldn't think of a caption for this .... was it a fishing joke?

Image

Flying the flag for the international entrants...........

These pics are from an album here: http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/alb ... 5500dBVDlZ

All in all a great day out on the Crouch. Many thanks John for organising it all.

The journey home was uneventful apart from a revenge mugging just beyond Basildon by masked Essex girls ; must have been something I said at lunch ... ;)

Got a bit of video off my mobile phone.

Sorry I was going the wrong way, but I still managed to get back first :D

You can see chucky building up his arm muscles :)

My 102 was going well that day after carb changes and jet changes.

My 18 stone ballast was keeping my waterline length at its max.

RBT be worried

Hmmmmmm....

Sadly missed my "family" ballast passing up the op of a day on the Crouch.......

Forgot to ask on the day ... what's the going daily rate for hiring 18st ballast? Copious beer tokens?

(Think you might need to weigh him next time since I think he's a bit shy of the 18st league but then again you had a foot and a half advantage at least over everyone else and some of us were towing external boat ballast! The next three boats home a minute after you only had one running engine between them! RBT needn't get too worried!)

Peter

ps Can you post or PM me the pic of the SJP I ran after we arrived back please, or have I blown it!??
