I have a lot of Minors....various states of intrigue of course........none of them has a wet head. They are all hot heads with no water cooling?

I think you might be right with that...

Could it be the case that all the Anzani production records were lost after their demise ?

Nobody has ever come up with dates v. serial numbers so far - be interesting to be able to copper does and ages for various models.

I 'believe' Pilots and possibly Super Singles ran up to the early seventies, but really don't know.

Anzani interests - at least for outboards - were take over by one Boxley Engineering for a time.

Anzani seemed to do anything with a small motor which would turn a buck , or supply engines, which I suppose was their core speciality.

As a whippersnapper I can just about remember riding in a fairground dodgem ride with the Anzani name on the cars!

I think Charles Harrison ( the Grand Fromage of Anzani) died in the early '70's which maybe precipitated the sale of Anzani, though he must have presided over years of declining sales in the face of Japanese outboards etc.
Perhaps the spares business alone made the leftovers attractive to Boxley?

Took the little lady out today and she ran well for the 2.5hr run (on one tank!). Was doing a bit of four stroking and backfired five times on 3/4 throttle which was exciting. I checked everything before going out except the points gap. I'm suspecting she is running too advanced so will adjust points accordingly.

A bit sad hey! I'll need to cut a new plank across the transom and glass. Typical story of glass holding in the water and rotting the original timber plus it lives standing up. Cost me 20 quid and depreciating fast
