Just picked this up along with a chrysler 4 hp, it has a jap engine but not sure of the make of outboard

looks like an auto products motor.

It has a JAP engine, which could have been produced to a number of manufactures.

I have two motors, some same parts, like the same prop, gearbox parts and engine, but you can not interchange the parts, as they are machined to different sizes and are made by two different outboard manufactures.
I think this one looks like the one that had a small finned extension at the top of the exhaust, seen one before, somewhere.

Yes the finned extension/ mating piece between exhaust port and leg tube is what is shown on the thread JAP, think this one has been bodged with flexible conduit or alike
