It's on a Yamaha leg from a 5R and then uses a 170 cylinder, head, piston, and casings (but bearings have been added).
Built it for a bit of fun to see just how fast a base Seagull motor could go. You can hear it from a mile away!

I've looked at putting bearings on seagulls, this only looks practical on a 5R crank, I don't see an easy way on a 170 with 18mm main bearing journals, no one I can find makes ball races that size, how did you deal with that?

Reading posts like this makes me very nervous, It implies someone is giving serious thought to the subject!

You sound almost sincere, yes I can sit without discomfort, but standing for more than 5 minutes is a very different answer!

 "Wasn't me"....!

Nudge, serious answer is yes, we did manage to start an altered course for the race. Winds were very high, so we raced in the lee on the North Shore. Winds picked up even more throughout the race and I think after one boat broke in half, as many of the remaining boats that could be reached were asked to skip a second lap and head in.

So there was a little confusion, but a hell of a lot of fun for those that came out.

Rumour has it Charles UK was seen airborne several times for the nastiest leg back, heading straight into the chop.

I didn't see the fast 170, but he would have started at 11.30 & we started at 11.00, so don't know if he was there.

It's true I was "airborne" once or twice & got a couple of bruises that none of the Bermudans offered to kiss better!
