CHOLSEY 2017

Post by headdownarseup »

Just asking the question now rather than later, AND it gives plenty of advance warning, would anybody like to do a Cholsey run this year as some of us missed out last year!

Hopefully if A-J is fit enough he might join us as well, we'll have to wait and see how he is.

The more the merrier.
Any takers?

Sound like a bit of fun.... Might be a bit far away for me, and getting a 20 footer in the bag might be a little tricky

Nice one Graham.

Somehow last year seemed to get passed by for some reason or other.
Would be good to get a reasonable turn out this year.

Just to put everybody in the picture i've just received a pm from AJ (Adrian Dale to others). He seems to fighting fit again, well.... nearly.

He's expressed an interest in doing another canal trip in May.
Get your skates on gents and let me know who's going.

I'll try and get some dates from the old fella shortly, but i think we can fit in somewhere with short notice.
It will be good to see him again out and about.

Bless him

Another gentle reminder

Are we still thinking of doing something at Cholsey again this year?
I have had a possible yes to 3 so far. Myself with friends and family ,Graham and maybe Keith.
Any more?

If you could reply to this via a PM please rather than broadcasting to the whole nation (we try not to draw too much attention from the authorities this way) it would be appreciated :P Try and keep it low key as much as possible.

I think we're more than likely looking at somewhere in July or August and on a weekend saturday or sunday. Pot luck with how busy it will be on the day but we'll see i guess.

As for A-J he's ok, but he just cannot get around like he used to before his stroke so he's going to be pretty dependant on help from us if i can manage to persuade him and Allegra to come. I'm sure we can work something out between us on the day.
Fingers crossed eh.

After seeing A-J last weekend i'm confident there's a couple of ways we can get the 'ol fella back in a boat. It would mean an awful lot to him just to get out in a boat again and perhaps see some of us once more before he travels back to Tasmania later in the year.

So for now Cholsey 2017 is 100% back on.

Same format as previous, start from Ferry lane and down to Sheridan. Back up to the pub for lunch and medals and probably a much needed pint of something. Then a slow chug back to Ferry lane with a little surprise at the end of the day 8)
Does that sound ok to everybody :P

I'm fairly open with dates but will need to confirm with A-J and Allegra whether this will fit in with their plans.

PM me with any details so i know who's coming etc. and i can then tell you the dates we have in mind.

cheers for now

Please guys ,PM me if you wish to attend. I'll give you the dates when you message me rather than broadcast to whole nation.
Charles will tell you why we don't broadcast dates for all to see.

We don't have much wriggle room with dates as i'm primarily trying to fit in around A-J and what he can do. If the rest of you can join in great, if not there's next year.

PM me if you're interested.
Don't leave it till the last minute guys.

Hello all

Staying at Premiere Newbury Town Centre South from this Saturday through Monday.

Anyone staying there, please text to my mobile 07570597340 and let us know.

We have a disabled room for Adrian's condition that will be helpful.

Likely he'll be in fatigue mode on Saturday after the long trek down from Aldham, likely I will as well!

Cheers

Allegra and Adrian

Not going to make it sorry, the fuel pump in my car died on Tuesday, on the motorway.

Can't even get a ride with H-A as he's away on holiday.
