Re: 102 help
The cooling system has been checked ok . the engine starts and runs well, but struggles with the standard prop on . If anyone has a 4:1 barge pusher gearbox ( clutched) I would be most interested in trying that. My boat is quite heavy and it might be more suitable.
Re: 102 help
Ok, lets just forget the whole thread.
Re: 102 help
Thanks Charles, it seems the g.box is right for the engine. what would a 4:1 box be used for though? The reason I queried my box is that the engine gets a bit warmer than it should when made to work hard and then breaks down . I've had to use a smaller prop than normal to get the speed up and get go...

Re: 102 help
Hi, Just checked my TC102 gear ratio, and it is 5 flywheel turns to 2 prop turns. Do I have the wrong gearbox?
Re: 102 help
Hi, just looking back at 102 help. regarding the prop and gear box; 4:1, does that mean 4 turns of the flywheel to 1 of the prop?
cheers, red.

TC 102 Ignition
I'm going to fit a modern villiers type coil ( far East copy ) and condenser to the engine. Does anyone have any idea what output the original coils should be? I managed to get the engine to run quite well, but heavy loading it seems to lack power. Had to use smaller prop to keep up the revs to assi...

Re: Saga of the TC 102
Still finding problems with the TC. The float was too high as it had somehow slipped up the needle above the groove. Explains the fuel spray coming out of the cowling. The ignition system is suspect. ( Villiers ) can anyone suggest a modern coil replacement? Also a condenser? I'm told the Wipac is a...

Saga of the TC 102
managed to get the TC 102 running, but when in gear, cannot get enough revs to keep it cool. The (external ) water exhaust stops below a certain rev range, and the engine overheats. The impeller is good and the water system clean. In neutral ,it runs well. Tried changing to a smaller prop which help...
Re: My TC 102
