Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Thanks for the link Hugz, that cycle car is absolutely awesome. I just love the note of the engine. And in case anyone was wondering, more filing sanding for me today. Yippy  The other half of the transom bracket. Not quite there yet, but getting close. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z14/H...

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Thank you kindly. A close up photo of the decal would be greatly appreciated!
PS: Yours seems to have a different transom bracket set up. Mine secures to the transom with only 1 screw.

Re: Latest Old Dear
Wow, what an excellent response. Thanks for taking the time to do that, it is very much appreciated. Compression is good and it turns over very nicely, no binding at all. There is no sideways movement in the flywheel. Had a good look at the cylinder and head and couldn't see any signs of trouble. Th...

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Hello Keith,
Thanks for the comments (I think lol) and sharing your web site. You've done an amazing job on all of those outboards. That coventry victor is really interesting. I've never seen anything quite like that before.

Re: Latest Old Dear
Please reply with any photos of what you expect to be buying for 450. You can use this topic for that not a problem. Thanks for the great information/advice. Much appreciated. Made a 90km round trip to get some photos. I guess this 'thing' is an obsession after all. Anyway, here goes. http://i192.p...

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Thanks for the comments and support. Today was another day of sanding, sanding and more sanding. In fact there were countless hours of the stuff! Here's a couple of pics of the flywheel and associated parts. Flywheel was the easiest of the lot to do. Just ran a large bolt through it, put ii in the d...

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Thanks for that Hugz.
Have watched your vid a few times already. All part of my Anzani Pilot research.
Plan to have this on display in my study/office, but want it to be a good running unit also.
Has to look and smell nice before the missus will let me bring it inside

Re: Latest Old Dear
G'day Collector Inspector. Another Aussie recently joined. Melbourne based! Have been looking at a Seaprite similar to yours for a while now. Owner is asking $450 which seems a bit rich considering it's missing a few bits and bobs. On the plus side, it's not seized, seems to have good compression an...

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Spent a few more hours cleaning and sanding various bits and pieces in preparation for re-assembly down the track. Cylinder came up nice after a bit of work. Hit the external surface with a wire wheel to remove build up of crud and rust. From there I moved on to the mating surfaces (crankcase and he...

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Continued to experience issues with photobucket, even tried renaming and reshooting photos without luck. Anyway, can't show you what wouldn't upload, but can show you what did so let's work with that. Made some headway on the fuel tank, sanding back the upper section and in the process revealing sev...

Re: Anzani Pilot Resto
Commenced the tear down a few weeks ago and took a few snaps along the way. These will also assist the reassembly process. Won't have to rely on my fading memory! All went pretty well, no seized nuts and bolts etc, a little more reassurance that this is in pretty good nick. Only issue at this stage ...

Anzani Pilot Resto
Hi guys, I'm a first time poster and first time vintage outboard restorer so please go easy on me. Having restored several boats over the years, and not wanting to do another (just yet) I thought I would start a looking for a smaller project to keep me busy over the coming months. Had always wanted ...
