If your boat is a displacement hull (which it is) then speed is a function of waterline length. A recommended engine hp may not produce more speed than a 20hp but will be producing hull speed at lower revs and thus better fuel consumption , less stressed. It doesn't work for seagulls as they like to...

No. At least not if you want to turn the outboard. The jubillee clip goes above that plastic clamp. The "seagull" fix is two of those plastic clamps back to back above that one.

cleaning your points might help. I am not a fan of running with a drill. If you do do it you must pop some oil down the plug hole.

No charge for fishing in the sea. No rules either -- just advice on lifejackets , flares , etc. Many places charge to use a ramp ; parking ; etc. and you need to be insured . Isle of Skye is free .
