Forty Minus 'For Sale'

This has just come in from a retired sailor. Is there anyone close enough to take advantage, maybe a donation to the RNLI? John SOS Dear John, I am now 87 and have not been in a boat for many years. I offer the above engine, refurbished, mounted on a trolley Free of any charge. However, I am now dis...

Re: Which Seagull goes here?

The Squibs that race from Maylandsea here on the River Blackwater, were bilge keel versions locally known as 'Sandhoppers'. The class rules said a Seagull Forty Plus had to be carried, just in case the wind dies and you have to get back before the creek dries out. They mostly had the Seagull stand o...

Re: Early Series Forty Models. F, FV, FVP, LM & LS

Andrew the webmaster is working on the page. For some reason I could not post your new datea sheets even as Word files so asked Andrew. He tells me there was something odd on the page for some reason, nothing to do with the data tables. He had trouble too... Hope to see it up on the site shortly. Re...

Re: Gearbox swapping

The Century had a 5 blade Hydrofan, to absorb the extra power, the Forty Plus just 4 blades. Sadly Seagull have no more WSPC waterpump housings, but I found out the other day, by a quick inspection, that the direct drive casting is the same, just without the 3/8th hole drilled for the clutch rod! Ea...

Re: The last Seagulls

Hello There, In the last days of Seagull 1993 to 1996, the two girls in the office, Sam and Jackie, built a few by hand themselves, as all the assembly chaps had gone. There were a few Seagull 2's, or Featherweights, and a few model 90's of Seagull 5's as they renamed them. These two models were the...

Registering on the Forum

Hello there, one of the last things Peter did before he sadly left us, was to disable the 'auto join' on the forum, because of all the spammers. If you as a customer or a Seagull owner, wish to register and have filled in the registration form and not heard anything, please mail me and I will then c...

Re: Sad sudden death of our Webmaster

Glad to say Andrew Laing, one of my customers in Bermuda has stepped up to assist. He works in cyber crime, and after the WhuFlu he is very busy with Cyber scams at work, but is already saving a copy of the site regularly and will be updating the security on the forum shortly. I can breath a huge si...

Re: Sad sudden death of our Webmaster

It is now November and as yet we have no one stepping up who can fill the void left by Peter. I do need some assistance here with the correction of errors that I may put on the website, and to get the forum back up to speed.

Any takers?

Re: Sad sudden death of our Webmaster

After the sad loss of our Webmaster Peter, we are now actively looking for someone to take his place. Someone who can read HTML code and has a knowledge of Forums like this one. Peter used a NAS machine to back up the site at his place as well, away from the one I have here, that backs up my comput...

Sad sudden death of our Webmaster

We are very sad to announce the sudden death, at the age of just 46, of our Webmaster Peter. In an effort to support his wife Kirsty, I have arranged with her that we can make donations to his old PayPal address, she can collect it from there. Anyone with a PayPal account can simply open their acco...
