Re: Transom saver

Problem solved. Tow ball on the car is too high. To get the boat trailer level I need a 4" drop plate. That would raise the rear by about 2" and solve my problem.

Re: 102 advice please (WC 385 R6)

Tighten what looks like a old car square brake adjuster or a slotted screw. May need a tap with a blunt object first. Most weld a larger piece on first or very carefully heat.
Can be a bit of a bugger.

Transom saver

I will understand if no one replys to this but sadly have just got a 6hp 4 stroke suzuki (needed extra power for strong current off Neist Point) but I have the same problem with my long shaft silver century. Trailing it on the back of the boat may have it catching the ground. Anyone got a simple des...

Re: Compression Test Gear?

Don't you have to allow something for the fuel vapour. I assume petrol is not very compressable.

Re: Pistons-Rods-Cranks-Crankcases.

From an engineering point , the top rod is better. "H" shape much stronger than "I " and lighter. It means your crank can be lighter too.

Re: Totally gutted

I bought my boat 30 years ago. It was a crescent 42 or a Orkney Spinner (at £1000 incl trailer) they were a similar price. I can launch it single handed (but have never had to) It's displacement so 9hp max (just ordered a new 6hp Suzuki 4 stroke - sorry) but very happy with any seagull longshaft on ...
