Re: Once more wildly off topic...
We have our numbers on both the house and mobile phones listed as private. Thats means we dont have our numbers listed in the phone book, You say you have done this to, but how long ago. If you have done this before your next phone book comes out you will keep getting calls until then. If you have ...

Re: Fuel and Oil Ratios.
I can only suggest you ask the site owner, John. http://www.saving-old-seagulls.co.uk/buy_spares/buy_spares.htm Given this is his hobby more or less, I wouldn't expect him to put up every possible part he's got, up on the page and then maintain the list. But, leak and ooze these things will do when ...

Re: Fuel and Oil Ratios.
The needle fits into a "fork" molded as part of the float, so you cannot alter the relationship between the needle and the float with out doing something drastic.... These other guys have the right answer I'm sure. If you wanted to continue on with Ted's BS School of Engine Tuning , try a...

Re: Fuel and Oil Ratios.
How about a thin, circular doughnut sheet of plastic (Teflon washer?) on top of the whole float?

That does look like a lot of fun. It's a treat when they pop around, in single or a bunch of them.
Glad the camera worked properly.
I'm the second one in the flick, just off camera...

Re: Fuel and Oil Ratios.
I just ran across your other thread on recommended oils for these things, and I think another user summed it up pretty well in so much as the best way to stop flinging oil across the waters is to get a 4-stroke. The Honda BF-10A is nice, if you don't mind a (seemingly) 110dB hornet's nest on the ste...

Re: Fuel and Oil Ratios.
I'm also concerned these modern oils particularly synthetics are thinner, thereby creating a rich mixture situation by giving a less viscous fuel mix. Once you find an oil you can get, that you can tolerate odorwise, etc. you can always tune the main piston needle to run at speed correctly... alter...

Re: Fuel and Oil Ratios.
Castor is the worst possible lube to try & clean out of a gummed up engine, & why would you feed a motor that has probably run for more than 50 years a restricted diet of lubrication, the chances are that it will be showing signs of wear, could this be the time to give it a little more not ...

Rather than risk the metals going dissimilar on you I'd try the Lexan or a Plexiglass option, though supporting John is a worthy thing to do when you get the chance to do a permanent repair.

Now, you guys ought to know that you just can't legislate stupid. It can't be done. Though it can be tried. It varies state to state in the US but here's a local attempt to instill a bare modicum of education to those entering the world of boating: http://www.boat-ed.com/Delaware/index.html?gclid=CN...

Re: 40 plus cut out
Well I had a look last night, and found that the electrodes on the plug were shorted out by a piece of carbon from the plug tip. Gave the plug a good clean and it ran perfectly!! Same thing happened here in Saturday (29th May) and I'm also using an AB6. I guess its time to go back to the specified ...
