Just use it as it is, it will have been made of half hard copper, you only need to anneal when it’s been used and has become hard from being compressed.

Never rely on any engine inboard, outboard, vintage or modern, an engine is more likely to get you into trouble than out of it. 125 miles with a seagull is a real feat of endurance, probably can’t hear SWMBO any more which is the one merit.
Did 25 miles last week and was glad to get out of the dingy with all the noise and smoke and get back out sailing with out an engine.

The Centuries and the Forties have square blocs with removable heads and that is the sort of motors I have rather than the round block with integral head on the 102's

That looks brilliant those 102 are very elegant.
