well... I tried this with 4 engines in the past ... :roll:
much smoke and merriment in trying to start them all
the trick is to align the tillers, so all pushing vaguely in the same direction ...and absolutely NO improvement in speed
you'll need a couple of very chunky chaps right in the bows ...

well...
a 4 day run down the Thames from Tadpole to Dorney (near Eton)...about 88 miles
used my "naval' 1942 SD
we were near deaf at the end ....faultless except engine had a tendency to want to drop into gear at most undesirable moments
