Saving Old Seagulls

rolled up jumpers for Nav Aids and broom poles to hook up the tillers

My entry for the next Lerryn Seagull race ...seeing as I'm living here now

well... I tried this with 4 engines in the past ... :roll:
much smoke and merriment in trying to start them all

the trick is to align the tillers, so all pushing vaguely in the same direction ...and absolutely NO improvement in speed

you'll need a couple of very chunky chaps right in the bows ...

well...
a 4 day run down the Thames from Tadpole to Dorney (near Eton)...about 88 miles

used my "naval' 1942 SD

we were near deaf at the end ....faultless except engine had a tendency to want to drop into gear at most undesirable moments

and I've had to tow HA before now

Well, for my 2d worth...

Regardless of wind and rain....snow, gales and flooding...I think you moderator Johnnies do a spiffingly fine job... Unpaid, serving a global community, and standing firm against attacks from the insidious, from the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune

Re-fuelling out on the briny is a bit of a hazardous balancing exercise over the stern,( nautical term, but blunt backy bit ...

(I count myself in the latter actually ...a smidgin of castor oil in the mix does it rather nicely )

one of my wartime SD's has what fully appears to be a galvanised block ...not a trace of paint

I think it would fair 'intercourse' them... no point having a 2nd or 3rd drive though
one bang, and you've made the bag

But this would be the appropriate tow vehicle for your 'galloper gun' Liam

Down here in the sweating and heaving industrial hub that is the Wallingford Naval Yard, 'tis time to review a bit of 'Gull fettling
