Hi Peter,
I too carry a seagull, it is kept in the heads. (toilet compartment)
Comes out once or twice a year and always gets me home.
Well done and welcome.

Hi Charles uk,
watching with interest!
I am a regular Hayling sailor and am torn between the views of both Robin and you. I too looked off the bridge today at no water!
Anyway, Tee shirts, have a look at sublimation printing as a option. I have one at work and will investigate if I can use it. I ...

Re: too much oil in the water
Hello WBG,
I have two spare century's and two 40+'s
Will that make the oil go away quicker? Or is that not what you mean?
Think I will start another topic tomorrow on the subject of the non-eco eco police. (they tell lies you know)

Re: too much oil in the water
Don't worry about the oil in the water. Oil is a natural product, it was made nature, and is broken up by nature. Don't always trust the people you should.
Your oil will make no difference to saving the sea, more oil is dumped into our seas every day than BP managed to lose from their pipe line ...

Hi there,
mine did this the other week. The weatherman got it wrong and facing a 30 knot head wind and the tide and an oil warning from the yanmar inboard, my trusted WSPCL came out of the heads and forced me on against all odds. Well for 20 mins! Then she died, no spark. Turns out the inline ...

Hi,
seems a bit odd to me. When you say water out of the exhaust holes I got a bit lost. The water should go in the two slots above the oil filler bung and come out the hole in the block. In reverse it should go in the hole in the block and out the two slots. So, are you sure it comes out the ...

Hi Geoff,
just took my century apart to check,
points and condensor disconnected, using a fluke DVM,
points wire to ground 0.7 ohms
HT tag to ground 4.7k ohms
Got to put it back together now! Hope that helps.
Have been missing your Lena updates for a while, thought you had given up!

Hi,
well done for sticking with it!
I see you live in Plymouth, do you/did you know Jon Jon and Ruby the ice cream van people? If so, do you know big Ron from the yard (rigger) and the Lion and Coloumn darts team?
My brother-in-law!

Hi,
think you are maybe timing out on the server.
Did this in word, then cut and paste it into reply
Try to write out your reply in Word before you log in as I just did above, then right click, cut, and then log in, right click paste and it's done.

Hi,
sounds like you are getting well involved in seagulls now. Ok, to swap tops you need a spanner, screwdriver, a big hammer and a mate to help you.
Undo top nut a few turns only, have mate hold the motor up a bit off the floor by the flywheel, then whack the nut with a good full on blow. Best done ...

Hi,
and put some into the crankcase via the carb inlet hole. This engine requires both compression and induction, think of it as an air pump. As the piston goes up it draws air/fuel into the crankcase. Then as the piston goes down it creates pressure in the crankcase which transfers the air/fuel ...

Re: Forty/Featherweight, wont start!
Hi,
just a quick question for you, you said earilier that you tried all the suggestions given, did you splash some oil down the sparkplug hole and into the crank case?
If not give it a try. It sounds like the carb is not working on this engine as there is no crankcase seal around the bushes.
Regards ...

Hi all,
I have been married to my wife for 23 years, she hates boats, engines, landrovers and all things that are dirty/oily/smelly. At first she thought I was quite normal. The first thing that she found a bit strange was when I sold my 3 year old fiesta and got a 1965 Anglia. following on from ...

Hi,
For my first attempt I put mine in a pan of oil and boiled it on the stove in the kitchen, allowed it to cool, and then rolled it on the chopping board. When the rings started to move I attempted to remove them with feeler gauges. This was successful on the first ring, but i broke the second one ...
