yer it is a long shaft .i was told as long as you shut the revs right down before comeing out of gear the engine should be ok it is if the revs are right up on a long run as well.that can cause the damage.but i will only be useing it as spare and maybe just now and then just to keep it going .and ...

is the oil to petrol mix for a 170.. 25 to 1 .
i have had this for quite some time now and went out to the shed and thought i will have a go at this and blow me down it started with two pulls.
did not let it run long as i just had straight petrol going through it .
so if i get the oil and petrol mix ...

can anyone tell me how you work out the knot speed of a displacement boat .
someone told me a long while ago but have forgot.
say i have an 18ft x 7ft cobble boat with a draft of 2ft .
i want to put an outboard on but dont want to buy an engine that is going to be more powerfull than i need.as once ...
