Re: JLO ap4
Obviously not Charles , I've never seen another one with the JLO engine , but the leg , transom clamp and bottom end are definately Auto Products.Charles uk wrote:Didn't Auto Products only use 34 & 80cc Jap power units?

Re: JLO ap4
Bruce , looks like a late Coventry Auto Products , they seem to go the same route as Sea-Bees in using the GHASTLY JLO power unit.

Re: This 102 is no sucker!
At present this is a bit of a head scratcher , I would totally agree that the mains would have to have excessive wear in them to cause bad running , the most likely cause for this in older marine engines is long standing , allowing rust to build up on the crank journals , and then the usual "clean ...

Re: This 102 is no sucker!
Not sure if John would have any , it's a fairly painstaking job fitting new main bushes , I've never done it on a Seagull , but have on other twostrokes.Obviously a quality in-line reamer is required , coupled with infinite patience , but it can be done , and the end result (provided everthing else ...

Re: This 102 is no sucker!
What condition are your main (crank) bearings in , sounds like loss of crankcase compression , they are a VITAL part of a healthy twostroke.

Re: Better than a Seagull?
That's not a 'No' at all, it's just me being under petticoat governance at the moment. She Who Must Be Obeyed is at her most active this week, shopping for dresses, running around doing stuff and generally causing mayhem. Ribbons, flowers, all manner of weird stuff going on; clucking and twittering ...

Ferrier info
I'm at long last making progress with my Ferrier rebuild , it's looking quite probable that it should run OK , mechanically very sound.
Have any of you chaps got any info on them , any snippets would be greatly appreciated.
As far as I can tell , it's the 120cc model.
Many thanks Andy.
