Saving Old Seagulls

With the recoil removed.

I've got the spark plug sparking, which seemed to be the only major problem. I've got to clean out the fuel tank, as there is loose rust in there (and no fuel filter?).

Then I'll get some petrol in it and give it a go.

I don't know if this helps, but my new Pilot has this serial number: With dual fin propeller and single clamp What year does that make it?

I've just bought an Anzani Pilot and I wondered if anyone could give me any pointers of what to do before starting it for the first time?


I am a complete novice with outboards and in fact the Anzani is just to practice on because I don't want to damage the (much more expensive) Seagull I'm about ...
