Multigrade is something like SAE 80w90 or SAE 85w140.
Seagull tells you to use SAE140 and that is a single grade.
Millers oils and Penrite have it.

Re: No spark
Try this:
When starting your gull take the rope 3 times around the pulley. First hold it against the compression and than give it a good hard pull, but not violently. The trick is: first hold it against the compression! than the chance to get a kick back is much smaller. Good luck!

I came in last . . Well, My THC isn't that slow, about the same as a normal 102, but with more push and to reach the same speed you need more revs. Once, I pushed a 20ton barge, not fast, but she did! My THC is the Seagull I like most, but for normal use on my Drascombe I use my AC, much lighter! Ou...

My 102 takes about 1.7 liters per hour when running 50% to 60% throttle. That is enough for normal speed. Quiet waters around 4 knots. Running at full you take more fuel and there's not very much speed extra. If you want to be very economic: run it at 30% throttle. Then it takes almost 2 hours to em...

Re: 102 wont open up....
It doesnt come with a choke, which I find a bit weird?
Shut the inlet with your hand, that is the way to choke an old 102. Perfect system!
Maximum simplicity, I like it!

Quote: I might see if I can get a little bit better seal around the bottom of the exhaust tube as it seemed like much of the exhaust was coming from there. Is that just a pressure fit? Try it on a boat and it will be OK. No pressure fit, just sloppy, which is perfectly normal. Seagulls are made for ...

SAE250 is a gearbox oil, a very heavy one. In Holland I know only 2 suppliers: Millers and Penrite. 140 will do too, but when the bearings are a bit sloppy or when used in tropical conditions as Seagull said, 250 is better. Bosch M5A is the same as NGK A7. The best plug for your 102 is Champion D16 ...
