To quieten the old girl down i found making a disc from aluminium 5mm thick to fit inside the exhaust. With 4mm holes drilled through it(losts of them like mesh) slid up into the exhaust pipe and secured by drilling and tapping through the side of the tube into the plate. One hole needs to be ...

My little boat with the seagull bitsa engine. Is now officially a tug boat. Had to go and recover a broken down cabin cruiser yesterday. The little engine ran lovely for 3 hours non stop so its been tested and tested well

As for starting and running with the odd carb on the end of a bit of hose. Its perfect, starts second pull from dry no problems, runs lovely all through the rev range and its quiet. Noticibly quiet

Replace the upright member with the seagull engine. Put some little sides on the board or make a super light dingy

I have also been thinking about hydrofoils. To reduce the resistance of the boat in motion. But tge ones they use on surf boards are far too expensive to buy but they seem to be the right kind of idea. If only i knew someone with a hydrofoil board i could measure and copy maybe scale it up to fit ...

Oh and the generator runs too slow at direct drive so some gearing up is required. Sewing machine belt ordered

Not with the homemade prop yet. Still tinkering. But the bitsa runs great. Towed my new boat 12miles home at the weekend with the bitsa on the dilligaf dinghy. Never missed a beat all the way.

All the verniers i have come across measure in decimal inch. Especially the digital ones.
But heres an odd one. 1/50 of mm
