Tank is still leaking

I was hoping to use the Seagull this weekend but unfortunatly the tank is still leaking. I've tried solder and epoxy putty with no luck. I may try brazing it this weekend if I can get it off and clean in time. A friend of mine is meeting me for a sail and said he'd bring his torch and a brazing rod ...

Sign for my boat

I was thinking about making a sign for my boat so my guest know how I feel about smoking aboard. It will read something like

The only thing allowed to smoke aboard this vessel is my Seagull

Ready for action!

I took my Seagull EFNRL out of the basement today for the first time since November. I pust some clean gas in the tank covered the intake with a rag and 3 pulls later she was waking up the whole town. I was amazed at how easily she came to life after being idle all winter. I still need to repair the ...

That motor is very close to home, which is rare around here. My motor is too big for my dinghy but this might work well on it. I'll have to keep an eye on it. I think I'm getting the bird flu. I wonder how many engines I can keep hidden from my wife?

Looks like a fine way to spend the winter! I just pulled the mast and rigging off my boat to get ready for winter maintenance but the day after I pulled it all off I was wishing I had left it on. I had perfect sailing weather and couldn't enjoy it. I'd better get working so I'll be ready for the ...

I help to moderate another board with this same software. We were having the same problems with bots and spammers. There is a program you should look at to help you combat this problem. We installed it on our board and it has helped out a lot. You can view the info here and get the update program as ...

The Escargot looks like a fun boat, I don't know about pedeling something that big though. It's probably a good thing you're getting a seagull for it. How far along are you on the build?

I just noticed where you were from Pecan John and thought you might be interested in joining my group of boatbuilders. We build sailboats and get together several times a year for some great times. We would welcome you to join us for our gatherings. Right now we don't have much planned but come ...

I have an adjustable mounting bracket on my boat. I have been using a std shaft evinrude since I built the boat with the bracket adjusted down. Now with the long shaft Seagull I have to keep the bracket at it's highest point and it seems the depth is just about perfect, I do however need to make a ...

Well it looks as if I am very fortunate to have picked up a Seagull with reverse. I'm hoping for another sail or 2 before packing the boat up for the winter. Maybe a new years eve cruise if the weather is not too cold. I might have to start looking for a heater.
Thanks for your response to my ...

reverse gear

I was wondering just how many Seagull models were made with a reverse gear and when they were made. I used my reverse several times last weekend and I don't really know how fortunate I am to have that ability with a Seagull.
I was very pleased with the performance of my engine. It pushed the boat ...

I took the boat out for a great weekend sail. The weather was fantastic though it would have been nice with more wind, good thing I had the Seagull. The gull did a fine job for me. It pushed the boat along at a max of 5.2 knots which is about what my Evinrude will do. It's a fine motor for my boat ...

The only trouble you can get is if a bit of flux is sealing the leak as this will disolve as soon as you put petrol in but wont show up on hydro or air tests.

That explains why I didn't see any leaks untill I put fuel into the tank, I just thought I was going mad!

Sorry to hear about your ...

Voltage regulator for Seagull alternator

Has anyone set up a regulator to keep from overcharging their batteries. I was thinking of buying an old auto regulator and wiring it up to the to the alternator. I don't have a state of charge meter on my battery now, but even if I did I would be unlikely to be watching it the entire time I was ...
