One more photo. I put the original blue starter back on and put the black one back on the EFPCL. I had to repair the black starter which is why I swapped them earlier. The EFPCL was black tank and black starter, the EFNR blue tank and blue starter.

Here is a photo of the EFNR after the test run in my "tank". The starter is off my EFPCL, which has the blue starter of this motor. As soon as I take a wrap to tighten the spring, and get the screws from John, I'll put the right starters back on the right motors. But, they run. I'm not sure the big ...

Well, I got my 3rd Seagull running: the EFNR (Silver Century). Thanks to Michael for letting loose of one of his Mark III coils. Cleaned the tank, cleaned the carb, replaced the AMAL fuel line connecter and line, put in the new used coil, put on a new spark plug cap and spark plug.

Well, I put the right tanks on the right motors (well, the recoil starter and tank should be black on the EFPCL, I think (1985 vintage). That starter came off the EFNR, which you can see in the background. The tank was a steel spare the PO had for the FW 40 (has the narrow 40 bolt spacing).

I posted earlier about retrofitting an older plate/flywheel to my Silver Century EFNR, since the WIPAC III is dead. I have a chance to get an earlier Villiers powerhead from the 60's. I suppose I would have to drill/tap new holes for the plate, or drill / modify theplate to fit the existing ...

When I bought the EFPCL, the rope wouldn't rewind. I assumed the spring had just broken or popped loose some how When I got it off, and disassembled the starter (carefully with glasses, gloves, and a rag). I found that the spring was just GONE. I suppose the PO may have taken it out to try and fine ...

I saw in my Seagull Service Manual (titled British Seagull Mechanic's Manual, a real hard copy one with the blue plastic notebook cover!) that the Villiers and Amal carbs can be adjusted for altitude.

One more thing (I did put in my first post). I had to take some parts off of the EFNR for the carb / tank. Both the EFNR and EFPCL use the Amal carb. The Amal carburetor on the EFPCL has the plastic angled fitting that connects the hose to the carb. It was all split and cracked and the hose was real ...

The 40 came with the Potter 15. The owner was going to junk the EFNR, so he gave it to me for free. The EPCL I paid about $60 US. I don't think the EPCL has seen more than 2 or 3 hours of service.
