Hi Jim, the value of the condenser is 0.1uf 400vdc but the need for a rugged physical case is most important! Any of the modern moped type capacitors will be fine if they are the similar size & are alumimium cased., Rog.

There are specialist aluminium prop welders (I had the skeg rewelded on my Brittania) but the cost will far outweigh the value of the engine, Ebay is the answer.

Sadely that manual is for the later JLO model, you have the ealier (& better) JAP engined version, some info will not be accurate.

Hello Charles, the rubber I need is for an Anzani Pilot but I have been led to beleve that the 1946 Johnson TD/TS is of a compatible size. Have you any idea?

Ebay item 200803265659, Triple layer composite gasket material, is the correct stuff for the head gasket.

The head gasket is not a "paper" one, it is asbestos type silver covered, they often track from bore to a water port even if properly fitted, try to get a real replacement (see above) & use red hermetite on refitting My replacement has lasted five years of heavy use with no probs.
