Re: EFPCL 1979

Tambikeboy - excellent illustration - just what I needed! Pat777 - fabulous video - found out that I did have spring inside already and the needle in #2 - so oil ratio is 25:1 Wouldn't mind to get needle #1.....less oil in the gas - right now lots of it is running down the exhaust tube. Re: EFPCL 1979

yes, it is put together in wrong order - wander what the right order is. I am staring in the diagram and can't see where the taper needle spring should be going - not where it now - that' for sure. There is already one spring pushing the slide down - that's #6 Throttle Valve Piston Spring that goes ...

Re: EFPCL 1979

OK, I have not cut anything and "screw" the lead wire as far I would go. Hooked up the spark tester and was getting strong spark with every pull. Tried to start it up and Seagull did start after maybe 3rd pull - not bad. Rpm however was at max and would not go down much after lowering gas ...

Re: 79 Forty plus, clutch, long shaft

SO using spark tester I have found that there was no spark. After maybe 20 pulls I saw 1 spark. Resigning to the fact that there is an ignition problem I was taking tester off. Then decided to see if there are some loose connection and pulled gently on lead wire - it came off - here are the pictures...

Re: 79 Forty plus, clutch, long shaft

Here is my Feather Craft. Made new motor mount, trying to set up the right height for long shaft - looking back I am pretty sure I could adjust the height collar that Seagull has - not thinking - or thinking late :P

Re: 79 Forty plus, clutch, long shaft

have not use my Seagull for few years - just not enough HP for the boat I wanted to use on. Got a 7.5 HP Johnson and is doing good job. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0v27cB0uAE However I just got a 12' Feather Craft aluminum boat and that's when the Seagull would come handy. Well, had the motor r...

Re: 79 Forty plus, clutch, long shaft

got some 1/8" thick cork and made some gaskets for the gas cap. Sealed tank may result in better running motor.

Re: 79 Forty plus, clutch, long shaft

went out again last weekend. had a 4' long tiller extension mounted....seems that steering with the motor is not that good, probably because of the long tiller. Not sure if I had the motor going full speed....the rpm did change once during running it. I ws expecting the boat go little faster - max H...
