Re: Molassas and spark plug Question
A while ago I posted a thread on using molasses on a block. Worked like a charm. While working with it my nose taught me a lesson. We have here a product called 'rust stop' which "fixes" rust. I have used it on rust spots on my truck and it did just that prevented the spread of rust. While working ...

Re: Compression Test Gear?
H-A thanks email sent.
Anyone with any British Seagull clothing know what the 'made in' tag says?
Basically I'd like to like British Seagull circa 2013 but when I see a 50 dollar t-shirt I wonder if it was made for pennies somewhere by slaves or was it spun from fine scotch wool and knitted by ...

Re: Compression Test Gear?
Charles since you bring up the formidable track record, I am still waiting to hear about where British Seagull currently manufactures parts? Last time I asked you gave a 'fanciful' story about some piece work conducted in a kitchen by a haggard house wife? As a 'formaidable' historian surely you ...

Hmmmm 1000s of tons of protien an endless stream of boat people showing up hungry seems like a no brainer to me. Funny that the 'discomfort' of those in gov is the big problem.

Re: Compression Test Gear?
I think we read on here pretty frequently that any 40 with over 55 PSI will run well and be satisfactory? Neat that RCweaver's caculations figure out to the same #. I do not think he was trying to raise stakes on bets nor was he trying to say that seagulls do not ever measure over 55 PSI compression ...

Waste veg oil or fresh? I am asking because I got convinced that waste oil with out PH adjustment was death to bearings and injection pumps?

Re: 102 advice please (WC 385 R6)
You should have to slots cut into the bottom of the transom mount, You can then use a couple of screws to hold it in place. I would not go chiseling away on the back of a transom  .You can easily fill in the 2 screw holes if need be.

Re: General opinions - whats a seagull worth?
I would assume the 102 would be alot more powerful and confidence inspiring in a wind, current etc. The only real solution is to buy a nice wipac equipped 40 and try it. Hold out for a minty one. I cannot see oarlock/row lock sockets on your boat so maybe you have real need for a 'back up' motor.

Rob,
One thing you can do to improve the moutning arrangement, and I encourage this big time, is to trace the transom mount (outboard side) onto that plank. once traced take a chisel and hammer and create a slight inlet. This will gaurentee that the mount wont kick off laterally with out needing ...

Phil has it spot on for Canada east or west. 100 dollar runners sell in about a month, 50 dollar ones in a couple days and over 150 nothing sells.
