Archimedes B22

Any one have any manuals, details, and or parts sources for one of these old heavy beasts.

I recently acquires this one, cos I like old things, and already have a large flock of Gulls, but this beasty is very different.

Mine looks like one in the attached pic.

Cheers

Re: Seagull Heaven

My "Seagull Heaven" now numbers 32 motors, 17 of which run and can be used if needed. The rest are in various stages of gathering parts for. I only "Preserve" my motors, which is to strip, clean and reassemble with new gaskets and oil. Full restoration may come in later years but...

Re: The Early Series Forty Models. F,Fv,FVP,LS & LM

Don't the SJP series come under the "Forty" banner

The identifier lists my SJP32312 as a 1960-61 Forty?

Re: The Early Series Forty Models. F,Fv,FVP,LS & LM

Not all my motors are Forty models as I try to collect ALL models. Collection covers most models and at the moment I have 18 motors with 12 of those being complete and running. I have an Excel sheet that details my collection, and at least two of them are Forty models but can't attach Excel files he...

Re: Three bladed Prop for a very early little forty

Propellor has been repaired by a local old school bloke.

Cost me 40 Australian rubels, and I cannot tell which was the broken blade.

Pics to come, but no longer looking for a propellor.

Cheers

Re: Volvo 12 hp Twin two stroke outboard

Oyster,
Most generous offer and I would accept apart from the freight to Australia would be crippling.

Would appreciate any pics though.

Re: Volvo 12 hp Twin two stroke outboard

Thanks people, that looks like the one I was looking at.

Only thing missing is the alloy spark plug protectors that were on the one I saw.

Re: broken casting

Depends on which way you assemble the impellor and drive shaft as to which way could be described as TOP Logically you should view or place the word TOP facing the motor. BUT I have dismantled enough seagulls now to come across impellors upside down and due to rust on the drive tube on the last one,...

Re: broken casting

Not sure Charles, but when chasing faults one should assume someone has been there before and maybe placed the impellor wrong way up?

Re: broken casting

Also check that a/ you have the correct impellor, and b/ that is facing the correct way up. One of your pics shows the impellor, and I think it is the wrong way around. Gull water pumps are centrifugal and non contact so rely on the blades of the impellor to act like scoops and throw the water at th...

Volvo 12 hp Twin two stroke outboard

Anyone ever come across what I am told, is a Volvo horizontallly opposed two stroke?

It has a massive muffler box at the rear, twin individual water feeds to the cylinders, single carby out front.

No photo's as it is not mine.

I was shown one today so just trying to find more info.

Thanks

Re: Corrosion Remover

Anyone tried this method of rust removal? Might need a layer of grease on the bore to be safe?

Or try some items that don't matter before trying good stuff?

Re: petrol tank rust inside

Put a hand full of nuts and bolts in the tank and shake vigourously.

Remove said nuts and bolts

Rinse clean and dry.

Then coat inside with POR15

Three bladed Prop for a very early little forty

My prop has a large part of one blade broken off, so options are to find another, or go to a propellor repairer I know. The motor is an early Little Forty that has NO stampings on the crankcase, uses a screw in drive tube (NO Pinch Bolt), Villiers carby, and three arm Villiers Magneto. I have some p...
