As others already mentioned here, some gear oil seepage in that area is normal. I have a 40+ and there is no seal on the upper bushing in the gearbox. Since new, when my engine is stored horizontal, over time, some oil seeps out in to the driveshaft housing area ... and as soon as I stand ...
