Re: British Anzani Class B Racer
Good job,you have her in fine shape. Is there any possibility of a video of it running? I filled my MK1 with water and gave it a quick blast a while back,it's on youtube!

Re: British Anzani Class B Racer
Hi all anzani enthusiasts thought id share a picture of my mk11 class b racer Nice looking rig. Do you use it much? I am preparing my 1968 hydro for the water after a "dry spell" of over ten years...I have a MK1 and MK11 Anzani and a "normal" Unitwin which runs very well also. :D

Re: Not Seagull but I think worth a read.
Very interesting article. The RAF and RCAF were stationed not far from me at Castle Archdale on Lough Erne during WW2. There were several squadrons of Catalinas and Sunderlands. I know an old man who saw over 40 flying boats of both types moored in the bay at Castle Archdale, that would be a sight wo...

Re: British Anzani Unitwin
Hi Charlie,it's a genuine UK B class (62mm bore). The lower unit is not the streamlined type but it has a massive prop compared to my MK1 version! :o The tightness was due to "crap" in bearings, I cleaned everything and all seems ok now. :D I hope the pictures help to identify this motor,i...

Re: British Anzani Unitwin
I stripped the B class Anzani to find out why it was tight to turn and discovered lower bearing was "dry as a rats nest" I will sort that easily.I haven't got around to starting the big Evinrude yet as I have back injury  and my son will have to come and help,as I want him to...

Re: General opinions - whats a seagull worth?
I did look at buying the Storm boat motor, and asked for advice from over the pond. I concluded that my back was not up to it. http://www.aomci.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1374419205 not sure you can see this link. That is one lump of a motor, great to get it going, real piece of history. http://...

Re: General opinions - whats a seagull worth?
I have found that a usable Seagull can be bought for anything from £50 upwards, just depends on what you want and how much you want it! :) Then again I've seen "merchant bankers" here in Ireland asking £150-200 for real rough motors needing lots of work! The majority of people asking...

British Anzani Unitwin
I have just returned from the mainland with a van full of goodies... :D :D Evinrude Storm Boat Motor,ELTO Cub and British Anzani Unitwin. I have included a picture of my "other" Anzani B class racing motor, the one with the Unitwin flywheel magneto! I've never seen one converted like that b...

Re: Anzani Super Single question
You can safely start the motor in a barrel or bin for 30 seconds or so. You could undo the inlet pipe and rig up a rubber connection to a garden hose also. As for stopping,if cable is adjusted correctly the engine will stop when throttle is fully closed,if not, have a screwdriver handy to short the p...

Re: Way off topic again
Ah,now we're talking! :D I do a lot of game shooting over here and use a 1923 Fred Williams sl sbs with 30" barrels. My grandfather passed it on to me when he retired from active hunting. This is a good quality English gun and shoots well. I use it for wildfowling during the "duck days&quo...

Re: Hot Seagull...
This motor runs so hot that it sounds like it's about to seize, beleive me I know what I'm talking about. My WSC,SD and AC can run for hours with no problems and the crankcase temp never exceeds the limit at which I can't hold it without distress... The AD gets positively piping hot after 20 m...

Clean points and try again. I've seen motors laid up for 20 years and all they needed was points cleaned to get them going.
