Thank you Adrian, today so far I was welding together a metal frame that will form the flooring for a shed in the garden. No time or money at the time to spend on a messy 5R.. I will read the thread you sent as I would like to know details.

Also the key that holds the flywheel in place, is it correctly positioned?

The timing screw is it inside the notch?

Maybe the magnets are dead in the flywheel? If you try with another flywheel?

I suppose you are using the correct flywheel that matches with the villiers ignition system.
