To the seagull idiots who have posted on the condition of this engine, SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SPEC SAVERS,the colour of the fly wheel was requested by the buyer as instructed on the invoice in 1971 Parkway Marine, there is no respraying on this engine tiller arm or anywhere else , it is out of order ...

I have had exactly the same symtoms with my little century,difficult fault to locate,could be head gasket,back gasket,cracked block ,,or something simple,try the carb first screw down the main jet enriching the mixture this cured my problem.

update..........she now starts easy hot or cold ,screwed the needle adjuster right down seems to have done the trick ,searching a bit on higher revs,just need advice on the correct adjustments for the villiers carb.

checked the compression 60 psi cold 55 psi hot,new plug 25 thou,fresh fuel 25/1

Hello Keith
Do you mean low crank case pressure,trying the motor with the prop on when it is warm sometimes fuel is seen spitting out of the carb air intake.unable to test cylinder pressure,I do have a spare set of rings to try.
