What is the best prop for a 102 pushing a 21 ft Yacht?

Hi Guys,

As the post title says... What is the best prop for extra thrust for a 102 longshaft motor pushing a 21ft yacht? I have a four blade rather large prop at the moment around the 12" mark... Would the slightly smaller five blade weedless prop from a century fit and would it give better ...

Re: Seagull 102 Longshaft with clutch THCL314H4 Bought on e-

Hi Seagull nuts,

Had great fun...not!!! these past few weeks getting the old girl going again....

My old 102 had caught some kind of bug... We even had to be towed back by our great friends the RNLI.

It started with the popping through the carb and the old girl then seemed to be running rather ...

Re: Rare Opportunity!

 I prefer an old engine to look like an old engine.... I use my 40 minus a lot and having recently purchased a long shaft 102 for my old snapdragon yacht, as long as they are serviced regular and are in good running order, that's fine by me. I do not mind giving mine a coat of hammerite to hide ...

Re: Seagull 102 Longshaft with clutch THCL314H4 Bought on e-

Hi Mate, Nice to hear from someone in OZ although not surprised as Seagull outboards have certainly lived up to their slogan of being the best outboard... :D

Rizla are fine as they take on a lot of oil and grease when working on the boat, so the effect is completely water proof

The problem ...

Re: Seagull 102 Longshaft with clutch THCL314H4 Bought on e-

Hi Charles, Thanks for the message. I read about the Seagullathon last night flicking through the forum. Unfortunately I do not have a boat for that purpose, only my old Snappy 21 yacht and tender which does the job for that purpose quite well, would not want to go that distance in an 8ft Sniper ...

Re: Seagull 102 Longshaft with clutch THCL314H4 Bought on e-

Hi, Had a great day on the Tidal Thames at Gravesend Kent today. Tested fully the old 102. Pushed my Snapdragon 21 yacht along against the tide with a very strong under current. Had to regap the A6 spark plug, used a Rizla packet corner folded once and it sprung in to life and it performed like a ...

Seagull 102 Longshaft with clutch THCL314H4 Bought on e-Bay

I have recently purchased an old 1964 102 longshaft in fair condition from e-Bay. Sold as a Silver Century. I got it at a very reasonable price and was amazed how big they are. (That's what she said last night...ooh ur misses) It was purchased on trust from the previous owner who guaranteed it was ...
