Re: 2012 Seagull - Thoughts on what it would be?
Hmmm thinking now I'd say to survive the market it would have to have technical innovation & offer good value. A bit like when BS got started in the 1930's. Yet another Tohatsu knock-off would offer no competitive edge Torqeedo have some good innovation http://www.torqeedo.com/uk/ Environmental ...

Re: Spark Plug Colour
Bullet1650 I'd suggest you use the running performance to gauge the mixture as opposed to the plug colour Here's a link to a plug chart found by Google http://www.aa1car.com/library/reading_spark_plugs.jpg A standard Seagull has to be very lean to seize, assuming normal pre-mix ratios. Usually they'...

Looks fine to me
Something to bear in mind is that the combustion residue conductive. Given enough running time, the plug will ultimately 'track' the ignition directly to ground, despite it may look good with a clean gap. This problem is exacerbated by the use of cheap oils.

Re: 25-26 Aug 2012 Lake Tarawera Overnight Camping Run, NZ
Follow-up 2012 The day started with some thick fog. A good turnout with a wide variety of vessels, 4 trailer yachts & 4 dinghies & 1 rubber duck. The usual chaos ensued at the start with some late starters, but eventually all managed to get away. Some cautious navigation thru the pea soup fo...

Re: what breaks the most ?
Rob Here's my suggestion, based on both actual experiences & rescue boat work Motor needs to be thoroughly checked over & given a prolonged test run flat out for an hour or so You'll need * daily spark plug changes * daily gear oil changes * spare prop springs & pins * spare prop * water...

Re: Brass Monkey Winter Harbour Cruise, Portobello, Dunedin.
Event Follow up 2012 Sunday turned out a perfect day for our annual winter run to Portobello. It was hard to believe the mirror calm conditions after the stormy weather the day before. It was only a small invasion on the village with several of our usual starters ringing in with apologies. Paul V. w...

Re: Brass Monkey Winter Harbour Cruise, Portobello, Dunedin.
(Latest word from the organiser) Hi All, There is a loose plan for a run to Portobello this Sunday if the weather is fine. Kick-off around 1030 from Back Beach. Will have a look at the forecast on Friday night and follow up with an email. Cheers Graham.
