Gearbox screws

Hi,

I just had to split a gearbox as the engine wasn't pumping water. Both screws sheared off.

Does anyone have spare gearbox screws or know the thread for me to search the internet for replacments?

Yes the OEM are very expensive for parts, but i always buy bearings and seals from a bearing supplier. Much cheaper, also loads on ebay.

Re: Removing rust from water jacket

Firstly i'm a fan of head removal and a good grind/drill out of the hard corrosion. But it'll be go to apply a treatment after the mechanical cleaning.

At work we have a chemical called Deoxidine. Anyone heard of it?

In the past i have immersed rusty items into the fluid. It fizzes off the ...

Re: newer villiers carb questions

As for the gasket question, no the plastic bowel 'newer type' like yours didnt have a gasket.

It doesnt matter as the gaskets dont do anything, the bowel has a hole in it.

Re: OK, so my first Seagull arrived today.

I always like to hear of a new enthusiast.

I can see you will get a second motor soon, keep an eye on the bay and the likes of Gumtree. You will really enjoy a complete overhaul.

On a lighter note...

Thanks guys :)

Re: sea fishing with braid

Im a fan of braid, the good points are,

Smaller diameter, meaning a lot less drag in a tide run
Positive feel to your lead and bait

The bad points are,

Nighmare if you get line twist or knots
Can be cut easily if rubbed against rocks, hence why some favour a shock leader
Expensive

Small Weedless Prop

Hi,

I am having a bit of a tidy up, and i found a small weedless prop.

Its only about a 5.5" outside diameter, i asssume it was for a 40 Minus?

I never seen one this small before, are they rare?
