Ref piston rings............

Seagull / hull applications.............

Most of us are aware of the good and bad points of our seagulls but as far as i am aware , nobody has mentioned anything about the capabilities of their motors under a variety of conditions with reference to particular hull shapes /weights etc. What does yours do ?

ref. featherweight.

I take your point about the weight of the 252 Vic..........I did wonder at the time whether the featherweight would be beefy enough to push the the whole thing . Most of my' running around 'is done on the open sea in calm conditions out here in the philippines but i found even with a slight chop i h...

NEW FEATHERWEIGHT......(input required)

I have been saving a new featherweight(which i bought years ago) for my retirement, . Well, the wrapping is off and it has been pressed into service. It is now attatched to a Bic 252 sports boat . I drove it several miles at the weekend but found it running rather 'heavy' ,almost to the point of fou...

Nobody has answered the second part of your subject header - will this be the demise of gulls? No. They'll go on for ever. In a hundred years the other Charles will still be mixing up special potions, and anyway third world nations like ours need goopy oil to keep all the antique tractors running. ...

Featherweight mounting bracket...............

For some time now i have noticed a 'clunk' comming from the mounting bracket of one my Featherweights . Close investigation revealed the lug on the bronze bracket (tiller side ) had worn slightly oval. Every push/ pull of the tiller handle would result in a certain amount of backlash being taken up ...
