thanks B
I have several leads here yet to pursue (or rather get them to reply to my E-mails). Still with winter only just losing its grip I can imagine people are reluctant to go through stuff looking for old rings.
There`s quite an industrial base here still so having one made up must be poss ...

Re: piston ring
thanks everyone
I have e-mailed coventry metaling and boring . Just to say as way of explanation that I´m in finland and it was minus 23 degrees celsius when I broke the ring. It is the first and hopefully last ring I break but it seemed to break very easily (maybe because of the cold ?)
Anyhow ...

Re: piston ring
Thanks I was a bit hesitant to contact John as I was uncertain as to whether the Ferrier piston was the same diameter as a Seagull one, anyhow I`ve sent an E-mail now so hopefully problem is solved.

piston ring
Hello all,
Does anyone know what the diameter of a century piston is. I`ve sucessfully managed to break a ring on the 120 ferrier .
The piston diameter is 5.5cms.
If this is impossible to obtain I wondered would the motor run on one ring ?
thanks in advance

Re: Ferrier
Hello,
Thanks Rick for the vote of confidence in Miller magnetos. I am intending to use the Ferrier as the main engine when on canals in Europe, and didnt want something that looks expensive at the back of the boat. I agree with twostroke nut that the Ferrier seems to be a well built machine so ...

Re: Ferrier
Thanks for identification and info re. points and mixture. I`m based in Finland and should be able to find parts needed here. The Anzani Pilot is a nice motor with reverse. Now I know what to look for.

Re: Ferrier
Searched in vain for number of manufacture. It is the model with the wrap-around petrol tank. I enclose photos that I hope will help identification of magnito.

Ferrier
Hi everyone,
While this may be an unwise action on my part I wondered if it was possible to swap the coil, condensor, and points in a Ferrier 120 for something more serviceable.
Has anyone out there done this because surely its just a question of drilling new holes in the back plate and mounting ...

This is an on-line auction.
Lähtöhinta 89.00 € = starting price
Hinta nyt 90.00 € = price now
Minimikorotus 1.00 € = minimum bid
I have no interest in the selling of this outboard, except that if it were cheap enough i.e. 30 euros I expect I would give it a home. The seller describes

gearbox
Hi,
Unfortunately the gearbox on a silver century has seized (there is some movement but very stiff). It was filled with grease at some time!
Has any one any experience of dismantling one . Do I need special tools ets ?
Thanks in advance
