Leaks when tilted
My century longshaft in most regards is in good shape, but it leaks gear oil when I leave the engine tilted up using the strut in either of the two positions. The leakage occurs through the water intake slots. Is this normal? If not normal, is there anything remedial I can do about it? I am very ...

Re: Fuel tank mounting pads
Guys - Thanks a lot. I gather heat is not an issue? By the way, in years past I spent a couple of weeks in Hobart and other parts of Tasmania and loved it. What a great place to operate a seagull. And on another unrelated business trip to Queensland, I did buy my wife a purse made of roo leather ...

Folks - I'm swapping the steel tank on my silver century with the brass long range tank. I don't have the fuel tank mounting pads. Are these standard parts I should order or are there off-the-shelf alternatives I could use? Thanks

Thrust blocks
Folks - My century, which is an older model, has an aluminum thrust block with a brass lever held in place by a cotter pin. This pin is removed to release the lever and tilt the engine. Both my silver century and SC Plus have nylon thrust blocks with nylon levers that function as latches, both of ...

chris - Thanks for the feedback on the D9 - seems like that is the plug I should use. Would you happen to know what characteristics make the D9 best for hard running? Is it a cooler running plug for example? In relating your experience, you've also boosted my confidence in the silver century.
