Found a crate!

Post by Dave-H »

Hi all,
Just wanted to give a big shout out to a friend on here for encouraging me to search for engines and spares and today his sage advice reaped good rewards. I visited an old chap last week and asked if he had any Seagull spares and the guy had a rummage around and came back with a small box of spares that included an unused Dover tiller grip amongst other New Old Stock goodies and as the friendly chap was showing me to the door he suddenly remembered that there was an old engine in a box. After removing various layers of tarpaulins he uncovered a Seagull crate with a 102 AC 1946/7 inside it! The engine has been ‘messed’ with as the impeller housing is from a late 50s 102 but the serial number matched the card stapled to the end of the crate.
