Hi guys I was lucky enough to obtain this nice little British Seagull today. Model number AD22909 which makes it a model 102 of around 1951/52. I can already see from my reasearch that the tiller has been broken and patched up and I also have a broken lug on the lower leg section. It also doesn’t have the correct carby. I will be after these parts if anyone can help.

Nice engine there are quite a few seagull owners from Australia here, so I’m sure you will be able to find the parts you need locally.

Hi Oyster I have already got the parts on the way. Got the three parts I needed from a guy here in Australia so that was great. Any smaller parts I can get from John (SOS). It’s a pity it’s not that easy to find parts for my Ferrier 120

Before you spend too much money on this project, check to make sure you have a viable project as this motor seems to have spent a lot of time in salt water, often not really a Seagulls best friend.
Check the lower unit & the water jacket then all the usual bits.

Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Hi Charles,
I have checked it out and it all seems fine. As far as I’m aware though it was only ever used in the Murray river (fresh water) but has been stored in a damp shed for the last 40 years.

Hang on to the old tiller as it is the correct size to make brass air intake trumpets for earlier models.
