Hello Ray - there were for some reason several engines around the 79cc size about in the '60's and probably ten years either side at least, normally of Villiers origin, and Villiers did own JAP, so you may well find Villiers rings of the same dimensions.
I mention this just in case it opens up more search possibilities for you.
Probably teaching my granny to suck eggs, but if you get into size charts, all you need to know is the piston diameter, ring thickness and depth, and then just the detail for the locating peg. Rick

Hello Rick.
Yes usefull information,thank you .
I did measure up the rings so will take a look a villers parts.
One thing though the locating pins are off set on the villers engines in the ring grooves.
On the Jap engine the pins are in the center of the ring groove so the rings are cut away on the inside to overlap
the pin.
May only take a fine file to modify villiers rings.
Thank you for the information.
Regards
Ray.

Hello Rick.
You were right about the piston rings.
Managed to get a new set and they where in a Villiers box with a villiers part number.
Thanks
Ray :P
