Re: New Youtube Video - Bermuda RISR
Nice sunny day
Great Video, lots of good designs.
Which hull design is the fastest, I do notice that some have near vertical sides like a canoe.
The previous ones I have seen have had much more flared top chines at the stern.
In the spring the UK race scene will be getting a Bermudan style long boat , just a shame that the race calendar is so empty.

All hulls use straight pieces of ply in their construction. Although most have more square-type transoms (probably due to ease of build), I'm inclined to say that the more diamond-shaped transoms are faster - but that might also be due to the engines that are on them! I'll post some pics of the different types so you and others can have a look at what I'm talking about...

Looks like I might be close to the final design
What size boards do people use for the hulls?

Re: New Youtube Video - Bermuda RISR
I would hazard a guess that 1/4" ply in 4'x8' sheets is most commonly used on our hulls. 1/2" thick ply might sometimes be used for the transom, etc. And if I recall correctly, the white hull with #13 painted onto it used a total of 3 sheets of 4'x8'. Don't quote me on this though.

Could the person making the video not have waited until they started the engines before filming ..??? they all look static to me
