Museum collection

Post by Raya »

I came across this collection of Seagulls in the Maritime Museum in Townsville. One of the staff told me that they were all in going condition but I think he was a bit optimistic. There were a couple of forty series (not pictured) that might run, but the rest wee definitely in " as found" condition. I liked the homemade long range tank.

That one is a Gold Cheeta made by Boundy Manufacturing in Springvale Victoria.

Below is a better example of this brand alongside one of the restored Seagulls.

Do I spy a Gold Cheetah in amongst that lot of Gulls lol

The tank on that 102 series appears to be from a Villiers engine.

Actually, I think i've see a few pics from that Museum elsewhere. There is certainly some nice stuff there including a couple of Aussie outboards i don't already have in my collection.
