Yes, it is.
I have just checked and also on another (working) forty, both are the same , piston is the correct way around.
Stamped on the front of the piston in my motor ate the letters STD-R I assume that means a standard piston?
Re the wrong crankshaft?
I have no idea of my engines past but by turning over the spare (working) motor I can see that the piston skirt opens the port and that the rings appear and stop in eactly the same position, the join in the top rings are clearly visible.
So the cranks are the same?
