Pumped Kingfisher connector leaking

The fuel connector (looks similar to the Suzuki type) on a Kingfisher I have acquired is leaking profusely! Is there any way to repair this? I assume the connectors are no longer available?

Are you sure you have a matching pair of connectors?

I use them all the time & never have had a problem until I tried a female end that was slightly too big, which allowed air into the pump side.

I don't know as that is how it came but although it is not a tight fit, it does not seem far off the mark. Outside diameter of male spigot attached to motor is approx. 10.95mm and inside diameter of female is approx. 11mm so I think probably a match? I tried a female connector from a small tohatsu and it was way bigger, such that I could push it over spigot without even sliding back the collar. The fuel line has been cut and joined in middle … I am guessing someone had a filter on the line at some point and then removed it. I screwed out the spigot to see if I could replace both with the Tohatsu type but it was a different (flat topped … excuse the engineering ignorance) thread on the QB.

P.S. Motor runs even at idle just petrol is dripping from connector and fairly quickly.

Are you using an external fuel tank or just the plastic one on top of the power head?

If the answer is "I'm not using a remote tank" then fit a new fuel pipe from the fuel tap to the fuel pump & miss out both of these fuel fittings, if you need to use a remote tank then your going to have to replace both of the tired fittings with whatever will fit the thread in the remote fuel block.

Does anyone know what this 'flat topped' on the male spigot is and whether there are any off the shelf replacements / whether it can be tapped to fit?

It's a BSP thread & from memory I think 1/4" BSP, did you replace the "O" ring on the male connector?

You can connect, direct from the power head tank to the fuel pump!

The male connector actually seemed to be 1/4 BSPT and I could get a BSPT to NPT brass adapter but still needed to run a BSPT tap into alu block … anyhow got a tohatsu connector set and all now tickety boo with no leak. Will try it on a remote tank at weekend.
